Head of the Defense Committee in the Knesset: We are not in a suitable position to engage in fighting on both fronts.

The head of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee in the Israeli Knesset, Yuli Edelstein, said that the fighting with Hezbollah in Lebanon will be complex sooner or later, according to Sky News.

Edelstein, who is also a member of the Likud party, told the Israeli army radio on Sunday: "We are not in a suitable position to engage in fighting on both the southern and northern fronts, and we will have to deploy differently in the south in order to fight in the north."

Edelstein criticized a video clip posted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week, which sparked a dispute with the White House, in which he said that the US administration "prevents weapons and ammunition from reaching Israel."

The administration of President Joe Biden in May suspended a shipment of 2000-pound and 500-pound bombs to Israel due to concerns about the impact they could have if used in densely populated areas in Gaza, but Israel is still set to receive billions of dollars worth of American weapons.

Edelstein continued by saying: "I hope that discussions behind closed doors will achieve much more than those achieved through attempts to pressure using video clips,"
